The Village Dinners, on the first Wednesday of each month, meets all three of these
missions. A special thanks to Eunice Key, Betty Kunstmann (and Clarence), Cookie Davis,
Cindy Fields, Susan Linne von Berg and others that fill in when needed or asked).
Village Harvest Food Distribution had its first full year. We started providing fresh
produce and other food/items in November of 2014 for 20 families/60 people served
and have now almost doubled that number.
A Christmas Tea was held for all ladies of the church at the home of Barbara Wisdom.
An extraordinary selection of teas, food and desserts were lovingly prepared and
displayed. This was a first event in what is planned to be a quarterly ladies outing/event.
A Shred-It fundraiser was held with the benefit of offering mass document shredding.
A visit to the DC Museum of Women to see the “Mary” Exhibit was attended by several.
Our biggest fundraiser of the year was the serving of boxed lunches for the statewide
garden show.
A casserole ministry was started with the purpose of having food to be delivered to
shut-ins and those who are ill.
UTO
- Betty K., our UTO Chairwoman, collected a total of $1,222 given by St Peter’s at the
spring and fall Ingathering.
Kitchen Remodel
– Thanks be to Catherine who wrote a grant request which resulted in St.
Peter’s getting awarded a $15,000 UTO grant to upgrade our parish house (Fall Hall)
kitchen. She received the award certificate at the “Stir Up the Spirit: Celebremous!” at Falls
Church – the 125
th
ECW Anniversary Celebration. The kitchen gets a lot of use even in just
the last year; Pentecost picnic, young adults' supper, Heart to Heart lunch, Clericus lunch,
village harvest distributions, the garden show box lunches, weekly bible study breaks,
monthly coffee hour, village dinners and classes taught by the Virginia Cooperative
Extension Service. With drawers that won’t even open, some falling apart and paint peeling
off the walls, we are so blessed to have a financial kick start to this project.
