The St George’s mission team shown here—Ken Pogue, Johnny and Cookie Davis, Laura Carey, Jan Saylor and not pictured, Andrea Pogue and Catherine Hicks, along with members of Andrea’s family, spent Friday unpacking supplies and getting the bookbags stuffed and ready for the distribution. This photograph was taken in one of the classrooms for the older children.
Packing the Bookbags
Andrea is with a family who came to the Victoria School to get bookbags for the year ahead. Thank you for your dedication to this project! Thanks to you, all three hundred students of the Victoria School received bookbags. We were also able to give out two tablets for students who needed the devices to do online work. And Linda Upshaw donated health supplies for use at the school.

Those who have bought Andrea’s delicious dinners have helped to make a previously almost unlivable house into building that will be beautiful, comfortable and safe. In the photo below, taken from the room that will serve as a dining room, Laura Carey looks over the railing of the verandah. Members of the team blessed the house with a short liturgy before we all joined together in a delicious meal of traditional Jamaican foods.
Jan Saylor made the beautiful house blessing presented on behalf of everyone at St Peter’s to Junior and Morris Samuels, the residents of the house and the brothers of Andrea and her sister, Pat Edwards.
We also got to visit the graves of Andrea’s parents and to give thanks for their lives.
