TryTank – Latino Ministry at St. Peter’s

TryTank – An Experimental Lab for Church Growth and Innovation

The TryTank Experimental Lab, sponsored by Virginia Theological Seminary and General Seminary in New York,  will offer a much-needed inventive approach to the challenges facing the Episcopal Church.  Working in partnership across the Episcopal Church, the TryTank will work to identify creative ways to equip leaders to reinvigorate the church. The Rev. Lorenzo Lebrija of Los Angeles is the founding director.  “We are really aiming to make TryTank a Church-wide effort,” said Lebrija.  “We want our experiments to tell a story and that story to be shared.”

St Peter’s is one of six churches around the country that will be participating in an experimental Latino ministry for Lent.  TryTank is providing all material for a Spanish Bible study (Estudio Biblico) and the Bible Study will be offered at St Peter’s on Friday nights in Lent from 6-8PM, beginning on Friday, March 15th.  Claudia Villa, a fluent Spanish speaker, will be helping Catherine with this experimental project.  Help will be needed for this new ministry! Stay tuned!
