Along the top edges of the pointed top of each panel
there is painted Gothic scrollwork done in painted
graisaille which imitates virtual boards .
The blue field appears to be ultramarine which is quite dark due to
medium and age. The blue fields did not appear to have been
overpainted. The lettering appears to have been done in a mor-
dant gilding, probably with powdered gold. Some of the letters
may have been overpainted or retouched with a brass-colored me-
tallic paint,
