Try out first century banquet food and find out about the types of entertainment at these meals. Imagine—the authors of our book claim that Jesus himself was the entertainment at many of the banquets he attended.

A First Century Todah Feast
The Todah was a celebration for something that had already happened. Through a sacrifice and the meal that followed the person offer thanksgiving and praise to God for saving him from a life-threatening situation. We’ll learn about the meaning and practice of sacrifice in Jewish culture and eat food that would have been typically served at a Todah feast.

Experiencing the Jewish Sabbath feast helps us to reflect on the wisdom of having a day set aside each week to reflect on our relationship with God. Eating together can be an act of worship, as it is for us every time we celebrate the Eucharist.
