The Choir Retreat, Dec. 19, 2015 (full size gallery)
Sat’s choir retreat has been an annual event for several years. It is a combination of a separate practice away from the demands of Sunday to concentrate on the Christmas music as well as an opportunity to prepare a meal and enjoy each other’s company.
This year the retreat was at Brad’s home in Stafford rather than St. Peter’s where he could show off his new organ powered by software from Hauptwerk. It is a software sampler which enhances the ability of a home organ to sound like famous organs in the world by sampling each pipe of historic organs and loading samples into memory rather than streaming from disk. It has become the choice product of organists.
The choir ran over the Christmas music and enjoyed a lunch of quiche, bread (from Tucker), salad and and pie. In an earlier life, Brad was a chef in Washington which shows in the luncheon portion of the Choir retreat.
