Announcements

Welcome to St Peter’s!  Our hope is that you will find God’s love present with you in this place and that you will return here often to worship.

***Schedule Change***During the month of August, our Sunday service will be at 10AM.

Happy Anniversary!  Howard and Millie Muhly, August 3. Happy Birthday! Peter Bryan, July 31.

The Jubilate today  is Hymn 377, a paraphrase of Psalm 100.  The Hymnal 1940 Companion tells us that “All People that on Earth Do Dwell is the earliest example of the metrical versions of the Psalms which played such a significant role in the church music of England and America from 1560 to nearly 1850… Old Hundredth, by Louis Bourgeois, is the only tune which has been preserved intact throughout the entire history of metrical psalmody and modern hymnody, and as such deservedly ranks at the head of all Protestant church music.”   We also use this hymn tune for our Doxology every Sunday.

Please remember to bring canned goods and other non-perishable food for those in need here in Caroline County.  Fred Pannell delivers all donated food to Caroline County Social Services for those who are in need.    A basket is also in the back pew for donations of pet food which are shared with those people who are having financial difficulty in caring for their pets.  You may place any donations for the military in the basket provided.

Village Dinner, August 3rd  in the Parish House, 5pm. Pork Loin tenderloin, macaroni and cheese, strings beans, Chocolate éclair cake. $7 or 3 for $20.

St. Peter’s Cookbooks bake sale on Saturday, August 6th, 8:30-1:00, at the Farmer’s Market in Bowling Green.  Volunteers are needed to provide baked goodies and to man the booth.   Call Barbara at 804-742-5224 if you can help.

Organ RepairsAt its July Vestry meeting, the Vestry voted to make needed repairs to our historic George Stevens organ.   The repairs will lengthen the life of our organ and also improve its sound.  The cost of these repairs will be $4,730.  If you would like to make a special contribution for these repairs, you may do so by indicating on your check that the amount given is for the Organ Fund.

Movie Night!  Come enjoy a movie with friends on Friday, August 12, at 7PM at the home of Stanley and Cindy Fields.  Please call Eunice Key at (804) 633-2165 to reserve your spot.
