Are you interested in knowing more about the Episcopal Church, and possibly becoming an “official” member of this congregation? If so, please let Catherine know of your interest. Bishop Johnston will be visiting us on Sunday, June 23th, 2013.
Adult Christian Education takes a break until April 21st at 9:45AM when we’ll watch the movie “Six Degrees Could Change the World”, just before Earth Day on April 22. Discussion will follow on April 28.
Happy Birthday – In memory of Ralph Fall (April 7)
Today’s hymn “O Praise ye the Lord” was written by Henry Williams Baker and is a paraphrase of Psalms 148 and 150. Psalm 150 is the Psalm appointed for today.
Today’s gospel is the story of the Road to Emmaus, from the Gospel according to Luke. Since this is Year C, the year of Luke, we are going to hear this reading today instead of the traditional reading from John’s gospel which includes the story of Thomas. In the lectionary, the Luke reading is appointed for Wednesday in Easter Week, so normally, we would never have the opportunity to hear this resurrection story on a Sunday.

“Now that same day two of them were going to a village called Emmaus, about seven miles[a] from Jerusalem. They were talking with each other about everything that had happened.
