Evening ECW Meeting
February 13, 2012
Present: Phyllis Carpenter, Cindy Fields, Elizabeth Heimbach, Catherine Hicks, Barbara Wisdom
Absent: Linda Beck, Carolyn Duke, Terri Harrison
Barbara Wisdom kindly agreed to be our leader! Barbara opened the meeting with a prayer.
Old Business:
Community dinner:
The next community dinner will be on Saturday, March 10 from 5:00-7:00. We will give out flyers to publicize the event at the Food Pantry delivery the preceding Wednesday. The menu will be-
- chili (with grated cheese or sour cream)
- salad
- cornbread
- brownies for dessert
- tea and coffee
- water
Catherine will bring a pot of vegetarian chili. Cindy will shop and give everyone the cornbread mix in advance. Everyone, except Barbara who is cooking with Boyd and Stanley, will make brownies. We should plan to be at the Fire House at 4:00 to set things up, and the men have agreed to help clean up.
Mittens and Mufflers:
Cindy mentioned that gloves are on sale now so it would be a good idea to go ahead and buy ahead for the collection next fall.
New Business:
Barbara said that she had spoken today with Marion Mahoney from the daytime ECW. We agreed that brunch at the Port Royal Tavern on Sunday, March 25 after church would be fun.
The mission trip to Staten Island to help with sorting clothes for school children is planned for August 22-25.
We talked about the possibility of doing a craft for the nursing home in Bowling Green in the spring. Cindy suggested that we might prepare small flower arrangements for the patients’ rooms.
The next meeting of the evening ECW will be Monday, March 12 at 5:00.
