Christian Education

1. BIBLE STUDY

The group, from various religious denominations, meets on Wednesdays from 10:00 a.m. to noon. Meetings cease during the months of June, July and August. On occasion, someone coordinates a fun meal just to get the group together during the summer break.

The readings follow the lectionary for the next Sunday. In late 2010 and 2011 our readings came from the gospel according to Matthew. Our Old Testament readings will be from the great prophet Isaiah.

During 2011-2012 the readings were from the Gospel of Mark and a variety of Old Testament sources

In addition we will periodically consider some thematic topics that tie in to the lectionary themes for that particular week. Those of us who attend the Wednesday Bible Study have a great time together.

A. Children's Education 2010

During 2011, the Children discussed such topics as baptism, the Eucharist, Ascension and Pentecost

B. Children's Education 2011-2012

In September, 2011 the children's Sunday school was split into two groups - children and youth. The curriculum changed. The curriculum currently was "Living the Good News " is a lectionary study for both youth and adults. It is available for seven age-levels (from nursery through adult), each published three seasons of the church year (fall, winter, spring), allowing all ages in the church to study the same Biblical passages each week

C. Children's Education 2012-2013

In 2012-2013, the curriculum was altered. There is a new time 9:45am and the following are offered:

Children from 2‐6 ‐‐Catherine Hicks will be teaching this class for little ones. Based on the
method known as Godly play, this group will learn about worshipping God, talking to God, and listening to God. Location—in Catherine’s study.

Children from 7 to 12‐‐ Becky Fisher will be teaching this group. They will be learning about the Bible through drama, music, scripture memorization and art. Location—Children’s study school room upstairs in Fall Hall.

3. The Nursery is also available from 11am to 12 noon

4. Adult Education

This meets every Sunday in the Parish House at 9:45am. See this link

5. CHILDREN's CHOIR

Children's Choir meets every Wednesday in the Parish House from 4:45pm to 6:00pm except for the first Wednesday of the month (when there are preparations for the Village Dinner.

Children's Choir is combination Christian education and music for elementary and high school students.

6. BOOK GROUP
We have a book group meeting that has met once or twice a month in the Parish hall. See this separate menu link. Currently it is not meeting due to time conflicts of the members.
